Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi is one of the most successful bands of all time. They began their ascent into stardom in the 1980’s. The members of Bon Jovi are Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan, Tico Torres and Hugh McDonald. Bon Jovi was once called the best hair band of all times because they had long hair and for those new fans of Bon Jovi try finding a picture of the band in the 80’s you may be surprised. In June 2007, the record tally to date of the band is 10 studio albums, two best of albums, one live album and one box set, the band has sold over 40 million albums in the United States alone and over 120 million all around the world. The band’s most popular album of all time is Slippery When Wet.

They finally won their very first Grammy of their careers in 2007 for the Best Country Collaboration for the hit song Who Says You Can’t Go Home. They have been nominated in the past but have never won. Some of their best songs are Bad Medicine, You Give Love a Bad Name, I’ll be There for You and Have a Nice Day.

Some people don’t know this but Richie Sambora was not the original guitarist for the band. One night after a show, Richie went backstage and told Jon that he should be his new guitarist but Jon was skeptical, he told Richie to learn the material and come to practice, not only did Richie show up but he knew the material and the rest is history. Other members came on board and unlike other bands they did not have a member change for over 10 years until Alec Such left the band and when Bon Jovi reformed they added Hugh Mc Donald. They have been just as successful ever since. The band has grown from a group of single guys who played concert after concert to guys with wives and families. But they can still rock any day of the week.
